The most used Legends in Apex Legends Season 22

As of the start of Season 22, Pathfinder is the most popular Legend in the battle royale. The movement specialist has sat high in the meta for a while and now reins at the top of the list.

Octane and Lifeline are following just behind in second and third place respectively. While Mad Maggie had a big popularity boost in Season 21 thanks to her upgrades that drastically changed her entire kit, her pick rate has since dropped down the list.

Finally, rounding out the top 5 pick rate placements are Wraith and Bloodhound.

Most played characters

A higher pick rate doesn’t always equal a more effective Legend, but the current build of the game has seen the same few characters occupy the top spots for a while now.

While mainstays like Wraith, Octane, and Pathfinder are still around, there’s always a fluctuation in the order.

Wraith

Wraith Nemesis AR Apex LegendsRespawn Entertainment

Wraith was the face of the game back at launch, and it’s easy to see why. Her abilities have yet to be replaced or challenged, even by Ash, with her portal allowing for smooth and strategic rotations. Alongside her phase, you can take more risks and still retreat with your life intact.

Wraith hasn’t exactly stuck around in the pro meta, and the slew of nerfs that have hit her over the years since she dominated when Apex was released have knocked her down a peg. However, she remains a popular and fun pick for most players.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder has slowly managed to reclaim his spot as the top mobility-based Legend in Apex Legends. Ever since Season 5, Respawn has continued to adjust Pathfinder’s abilities while also giving other Recons Legends like Bloodhound, Seer, Crypto, and Valkyrie his original ability to scan for upcoming ring locations.

Starting in Season 16, his speed on ziplines was doubled, and he can place his ultimate twice as far, which undoubtedly gave him another boost to his pick rate.

Additionally, while the friendly robot can no longer interact with Survey Beacons as he is now classified as a Skirmisher, he can instead see inside of incoming Care Packages to shorten his Ultimate’s cooldown.

Octane

Octane often finds himself in the top spot of the most picked Apex Legends characters. He is a consistently high-picked Legend in Apex despite the nerfs he’s received since the game’s release. His easy-to-use and highly effective abilities make for great solo play but also mean that he fits right in with team-based matches.
