A Respawn developer has responded to the peculiar glitch where Bloodhound’s ‘Beast of the Hunt’ Ultimate cancels while shooting at a Mirage decoy – and a fix appears imminent!

Bloodhound’s Town Takeover brought with it a plethora of changes to Apex Legends, including bringing Kings Canyon back into rotation alongside permanently adding a ‘Duos’ mode.

However, the Old Ways event update also brought a series of issues to the battle royale — including a glitch which cancels Bloodhound’s Ultimate when shooting at a Mirage decoy.

The Old Ways event update also nerfed Lifeline’s ‘Low Profile’ Passive Ability.

While the premise of the Beast of the Hunt is to track down your enemies, shooting at a decoy is a waste of the precious 35 seconds in which your senses are enhanced.

Nonetheless, Respawn has recognized the severity of the bug (especially since the event revolves around Bloodhound) and a developer has responded to a complaint on the Apex Legends subreddit, acknowledging that a fix is inbound for their Ultimate.

“That does look annoying. Right when it gets canceled you can see a red icon pop up on the upper right corner, near your kill feed. That’s likely either the packet loss or prediction error icon,” the dev revealed.

It appears that after digging a little deeper, the cause of the issue was the latter (prediction error) which, according to the dev is essentially “a game logic error causing a misprediction.”

Per their comment, the team is aware of the issue and a “fix is forthcoming in the next server update.”

Whether or not Respawn will be looking to address the numerous other issues, such as the Devotion’s new ‘back-breaking’ recoil pattern and Lifeline’s pointless ‘buff’ remains to be seen. Of course, Mirage’s game-breaking self-revive bug will likely be at the top of Respawn snag list before the aforementioned ‘minor’ bugs receive a hotfix.

Bloodhound mains will be happy to hear that their Legend’s Ult will be as good as new when the patch is released (although there is no precise ETA on when that will be).
