Respawn Entertainment have announced the next in-game event for Apex Legends Season 4 – a new Town Takeover called ‘Bloodhound’s Trail in the Old Ways Lore’ event.
After weeks of leaks and speculation, Respawn finally announced Bloodhound’s Town Takeover on April 2, the first one of 2020 after Wraith, Octane, and Mirage all got theirs last year.
The event will add a flurry of new content in Apex Legends, both permanent and limited-time, as well as the usual set of exclusive cosmetic items that usually accompany these sorts of occasions.
When does the Bloodhound Town Takeover start?
Bloodhound’s Old Ways Lore event will be kicking off on Tuesday, April 7 and last the customary two weeks before wrapping up on Tuesday, April 21.
This limited-time affair features three main components – the Town Takeover, a Prize Track, and Direct Purchase Shop, where players will be able to buy themed cosmetics directly from the in-game store.
Bloodhound’s Origin Story Cinematic
As part of the announcement, Respawn also released a short animated cinematic about Bloodhound and their incredible origin story, which saw the Legend evolve from a hot-headed youngling into the cool Technological Tracker we know today, earning the trust and blessing of the mighty Allfather on the way.
Permanent Duos and Kings Canyon
As part of this event, Respawn will be adding both Duos and Kings Canyon as permanent options moving forward, both of which have been highly requested by the player-base for a long while now.
Now, players will be able to not only queue into matches with just one other person, but they’ll have the choice of either playing on World’s Edge or the older map, although the devs did not specify whether it’ll be the version from Season 1 or 2.
These will remain past the April 21 end-date of the event since they are permanent additions to the game.

Bloodhound’s Trials and Prowlers
As expected from the recent in-game teasers, the northwest corner of World’s Edge will be transformed for this Town Takeover, where players will be able to complete Bloodhound’s Trials.
Here they will come up against an alien species called Prowlers, which are new to Apex Legends but originated from Respawn’s Titanfall series. Prowlers carry high-tier loot that they will drop when defeated.
Earn the favor of the Allfather in the Old Ways Event April 7-21.
Prove yourself against a hoard of prowlers in Bloodhound’s Trials. Master daily challenges to earn exclusive items. And squad up on Kings Canyon or Duos, which have returned for good.

There will also be challenges that players can complete, each worth 1,000 points and will be refreshed on a daily basis.
Earning points will unlock the various rewards offered in the Prize Track, headlined by a themed weapon charm, Gibraltar outfit skin, and weapon camo.
With still several days to go before this event kicks off, we could see more details and/or teasers for it revealed, so we’ll make sure to keep you updated on anything new.
Until then, you can re-familiarize yourself with Kings Canyon in Ranked Play, where it has been made the main map for competitive following the recent Series 3 Split.
