It is Apex Legends’ most expensive skin, but the Bloodhound Prestige skin is giving players a headache — not just a wallet-ache — as a glitch was discovered resetting its upgrade progress. Respawn has acknowledged it though, promising a fix and a “make-good”.
Respawn introduced a brand new Prestige skin system in Season 12 — although it was controversial.
The first skin of its kind for Bloodhound is only unlockable after completing the entire Anniversary Collection event. This costs, effectively, $160. That money will also get you 24 other Legend and weapon skins, but if all you’re interested in is the Bloodhound skin, you have to splash the cash.
Once the skin is unlocked, you can grind tiered upgrades by getting damage in-game while playing as Bloodhound. These should change the color on the skin — but should is the keyword.
Unfortunately, this challenge’s progress is broken.
Quickly after the Bloodhound Prestige was available, players who forked out for it unlocked Tier 1 of the skin and immediately started work on the damage challenge. However, there were problems right out the gate.
Some players have reported that damage did not start to accrue towards the 30,000 damage required until after they had restarted their game completely. Even after a restart, progress on the challenge was randomly reset.

“I play a couple of games, the tracker counts, I check again and it’s back to 0,” one player explained.
Some players broke more than halfway before they got caught up in the glitch. Apex Legends content creator KralRindo reported that their damage was reset from 18,000 back to zero.

Respawn promises “make-good” in Bloodhound Prestige fix
Respawn has acknowledged the issue with the Bloodhound Prestige skin and are working on a fix.
“We are aware of a bug with the Bloodhound Prestige Skin where the damage counter resets in some cases. There is a fix in progress, and we plan to deploy it early next week,” they said on Twitter.
However, there is bad news for players — that lost progress can’t be recovered. Respawn has promised they’ll make up for it, but they haven’t explained how.
“In the meantime, we are working on a make-good for lost progress—stay tuned for more details,” they added.

Players will have to hold tight for a fix, and in the meantime, it might not be worth trying to rank up the Prestige skin.
