10. Rurouni Kenshin Season 2
Release date/window: October 2024
Rurouni Kenshin is a reboot anime adaptation returning with its second season this year. Set 10 years after the end of Bakumatsu, an era of war, Hitokiri Battousai, a previously popular assassin now lives a quiet life as Kenshin Himura.
Kenshin wanders around during this troubled Meiji era and crosses paths with Kaoru, the head of a small dojo, who a fake Battousai threatens. The story proceeds as they both struggle with the changing times and find new allies along the way.
9. Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2
Release date/window: October 7, 2024
Returning with its second anime season, the story follows two detectives, Totomaru Isshiki and Ron Kamonohashi. Totomaru doesn’t have the skills suited for the investigative team in the Metropolitan Police Department, but he still wants to help people.
Meanwhile, Ron was the most promising detective five years ago, but he now lives a life of solitude. He is simply the shell of his former self who lacks the motivation to work anymore. However, Totomaru might be the key to returning to his former calling.
8. Beastars Final Season
Release date/window: December 2024
Beasters will conclude its story this year. The anime is based on Paru Itakagi’s manga, which first appeared in Weekly Shounen Champion in 2016 and ended in 2022.
The story is set in a modern world populated by anthropomorphic animals. However, the cultural difference between herbivorous and carnivorous animals has divided the society in two.
7. Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3
Release date/window: October 2024
Re:Zero anime has an overpowered protagonist, lighthearted comedy, and plenty of women falling for the ‘irresistible’ hero but it takes everything and turns it on its head.
Blending dark fantasy with psychological thriller in a perfect mix, this series has been one to look out for ever since its first debut in 2016. It’s coming back with its highly anticipated Season 3, but its release date hasn’t been announced yet.
6. Blue Box
Release date/window: October 2024
Regardless of how early he gets to the gym, he always sees his crush, Chinatsu Kano, playing basketball. While Chinatsu is a developing basketball star, Taiki is merely a competent badminton player with no popularity. However, things begin to change when Chinatsu moves into Taiki’s residence.

5. Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 7

This Shojo anime revolves around some of Japan’s religious mythologies, including ghosts, spirits, and yokai. Takashi Natsume constantly changes foster homes, he arrives at his late grandmother’s old place, whom he never met.
With the help of a powerful yokai, Madara, Natsume finds her Book of Friends, which only includes Yokai’s name, and aims to free all of them. The anime will release its 7th season this October, but it has yet to announce all the details.
4. Dragon Ball Daima
Release date/window: October 2024
Another addition to the Dragon Ball franchise is all set for its debut in October 2024. Dragon Ball Daima was announced during NYCC 2023. The anime is adapted from Akira Toriyama’s manga, following Goku and his friends, who have all been transformed into children.

3. Dandadan
Release date/window: October 2024
The anime series will debut in October 2024, but the premiere date itself has yet to be revealed. The story follows Momo Ayase and her classmate Okarun. While Momo believes in ghosts, Okarun thinks aliens are real.
In order to prove themselves right, they make a bet, which soon creates a series of hilarious events. This story of young love centers around the chaotic events with ghosts, monsters, aliens, battles, and so on.
2. Blue Lock Season 2
Release date/window: October 2024
Blue Lock is a popular sports drama. The story revolves around Yoichi Isagi, a talented high school football player who has a burning desire to become the world’s best striker and lead Japan to World Cup victory.
However, the Japanese National Team lacks a ferocious, game-changing striker with the killer instinct to win matches. The anime released a spin-off movie in June only in Japanese theatres, and it’s set to debut in its second season.
1. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Conflict
Release date/window: October 5, 2024
The final arc is being adapted in four parts. As the second part was concluded, the series announced part 3. Bleach TYBW Part 3 is titled “The Conflict” and is scheduled for 2024.
The sequel was announced with a minute-long teaser featuring the highly-anticipated fight between the main villain, Yhwach, and Squad Zero’s captain, Ichibe. The preview also shows Ichigo and his friends storming the Soul King’s palace, which promptly collapses.
