Now that Luffy is a Yonko, Straw Hat Pirates is one of the most feared crews in the world. But how do we rank them in terms of strength?
Ever since the One Piece manga debut in 1997, the Straw Hat Pirates have come a long way. Fans have followed Luffy’s journey from being a no-name pirate to one of the strongest in the world. Naturally, the ones who supported Luffy most in his journey were his crew.
Luffy never dreamed of having a big crew like all the other top-tier pirates. Instead, he wanted a crew of ten members or so. His dream came true, and everyone he recruited was exceptional.
While the entire crew doesn’t have powerful offensive abilities, something unique about them makes their job as important as anyone’s.
10. Usopp
Role: Sniper
As the sniper of the crew, Usopp doesn’t have any physical combat training. Even Oda wants Usopp to be the weakest because he’s the only one in the crew who is close to a regular human. And yet, Usopp’s dream is to become the brave warrior of the sea.
Even though he doesn’t have offensive powers, he has unrivaled marksmanship skills and observation haki. That, paired with his artistic skills and his choice of using different seeds as weapons, is the most unique thing for a sniper.
9. Nami
Role: Navigator
Nami is a valuable member of the Straw Hat Pirates because of her role as the navigator. Not only is she the best navigator in the world, but she also excels in one-on-one combat thanks to the Climatact Usopp made for her. Of course, it also helps that Nami has more knowledge about climate than anyone else.
She further levels up after Whole Cake Island Arc when she snags Zeus, a cloud homie created by Big Mom, from her very soul. Although Nami may not have haki or devil fruit powers, she’s still a formidable pirate in her own right.
8. Brook
Role: Musician
Thanks to his Revive-Revive Fruit, this happy-go-lucky skeleton was granted a second life, along with immunity to disease and a variety of soul-related abilities. All this, combined with his sword skills, extreme speed, and musical talents, means that Brook is capable of taking on formidable enemies.
The “chills of the Underworld,” or pure cold emanating from his soul essence, enable Brook to imbue objects, such as his blade, with this icy aura. Since he is technically dead, he is immune to lots of diseases as well.
7. Tony Tony Chopper
Role: Doctor
Tony Tony Chopper may be an adorable little guy most of the time, but he can be a menace when he wants to. After mistakenly eating a Devil Fruit, Chopper becomes a strange mix of reindeer and humans, which makes him far superior to regular reindeer in nautical combat.
His vast medical knowledge makes him one of the most valuable members of the Straw Hat Pirates, even if he isn’t one of the strongest. Thanks to his expertise in medical knowledge, he created a drug called Rumble Ball that allows him to use several transformations.
6. Nico Robin
Role: Archaeologist
Introduced as an antagonist in One Piece, the Devil Child Nico Robin eventually joined the Straw Hat Pirates and established herself as one of the most frightening pirates on the Grand Line. With her Flower-Flower Fruit abilities, she can break the necks of anyone who goes against her before they have a chance to defend themselves.

As a result of her recent power-up during the Wano arc, Nico Robin is now ranked among some of the strongest pirates in the series despite having no Haki at all.
5. Franky
Role: Shipwright
Franky is a cyborg and the crew’s shipwright. He self-operated after a terrible accident and has been upgrading himself ever since. Thanks to his metallic body, he is very durable. The Vegapunk-inspired weapons installed in his body enable him to compete against some of the strongest opponents.
Thanks to Vegapunk’s research, Franky also installed Kizaru’s laser inside his body, and he became a formidable opponent using Franky Shogun.
4. Jinbe
Role: Helmsman
As a former Warlord and an expert at Fish-Man Karate, his physical strength is almost unrivaled. Big Mom Conqueror’s Haki has little to no effect on him, and even Admiral Akainu couldn’t kill him. Hence, Jinbe comes right in the middle of this list with his bounty of One Billion Berry as one of the strongest Straw Hats.
Jinbe is a capable and powerful user of Busoshoku Haki, which he can utilize in tandem with his Fish-Man Karate. For five days, he fought evenly with Ace, a powerful Logia user.
3. Sanji
Role: Cook
As a user of both Armament and Observation Haki, Sanji is capable of defeating many formidable foes. However, he also has a bounty of over One Billion Berries placed on his head – which is a fantastic accomplishment for any self-respecting pirate.
Considering how Sanji can outrun a light beam, he is the fastest crew member in base. Thanks to the Germa Kingdom’s experimentations, Sanji has awakened his augmented genetics and is stronger, faster, and more durable than ever.
2. Roronoa Zoro
Role: Swordsman
Zoro is the only character in One Piece who uses a special three-sword style. As a swordsman, Zoro is extremely proficient in both Armament and Observation Haki. While Zoro and Sanji are always shown to be relative in strength, Zoro’s advanced conqueror’s haki gives him a slight advantage, even though the overall difference may not be great.
Furthermore, he observed Kinemon and learned his Foxfire Style. He easily sliced through Kaido’s Bolo Breath. Zoro then sliced through the King’s strongest technique, Omori Karyudon, and finally, the Lunarian himself, defeating him.
1. Monkey D. Luffy
Role: Captain
The strongest member of the Straw Hat Pirates will naturally be the captain, Monkey D. Luffy. With a bounty of Three Billion Berries, he’s not only one of the most wanted pirates in the history of One Piece but also one of the most formidable.
From awakening his devil fruit to learning Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, Luffy has come a long. He is durable enough to be immune to electric attacks and blunt force trauma, but he is still vulnerable to any attacks made with sharp objects like swords and spears.
