New Demon Slayer Nendoroid figures announced – Inosuke, Zenitsu, more

Ufotable

Nendoroid collectors, rejoice – a brand new set of Demon Slayer figurines are on the way for you to pose and display to your heart’s content.

Demon Slayer was one of the breakout animes of 2019, and was even regarded as the best to come out of the year by some. The show centers around main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado after his family are brutally slain by evil and his sister, Nezuko, is turned into a demon.

Wonder Festival is held twice a year, and is a show where many hobby companies such as Good Smile announce new additions to their collections, including their fully-posable line of Nendoroids and figmas.

The winter event brought some great news for fans of the monster-slaying anime: three more characters from the show are being transformed into the adorable figure form.

Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, is one of the best swordsmen in the group. He uses Breath of Water Style techniques to strike his foes with powerful attacks, making him a fan-favorite. It comes as no surprise that he’s been awarded with his very own figurine, though only an announcement image has been revealed so far and no actual prototype.

Traveling companion of Tanjiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, is also getting a doll, complete with his creepy boar head. The character was raised in the wild as a child by the animals, meaning he has limited understanding of human interaction and emotions.

Because he grew up in the wilderness, the character has an incredibly sharp sense of touch and can even feel when somebody is looking at him, making him the perfect sidekick for the protagonist.

Good Smile showed off their prototype of the monster killer, and although it’s just a gray model for now, you can already tell how intricately detailed it is.

The third character to get a figure is Zenitsu Agatsuma, another companion to the protagonist who is absolutely terrified of everything in sight. He is in a constant state of fear and always attempts to flee from dangerous situations rather than standing up and fighting like other members of the Corps.

Despite this, though, he does live up to expectations when really needed, especially when fighting his own inner conflicts, and his docile personality makes him a hit with fans of the anime.

Like Inosuke’s, the boy’s figure is still just a prototype with no color added yet, but you can clearly see the fear etched on his face, making for a perfect representation of the swordsman.

The cowardly character is also joining the set.

The company also added the anime to its lineup of new Nendoroid Dolls – a set of figures with the same heads as the others, but with an alternate body that has more points of articulation for better posing.

All heads and faceplates from original models are compatible with the new series, giving fans endless customization options and a fresh way to display their older ones.

No prototypes have been made yet, but they did reveal which characters would be getting the Doll treatment: Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.

None of the figurines have release dates yet, but Good Smile usually releases them within a year of the initial announcement.

As for price, nothing has been determined either, though the Tanjiro and Nezuko ones are up for preorder on Amazon Japan for $47 and $49.
