Palworld is getting immense love from the gaming community, especially among those who love Pokemon. So, here are five anime shows that offer a similar vibe to Palworld.
Pocket Pair’s Palworld has become a breakout hit, selling more than five million copies ever since it hit early access. The game’s world is full of adorable (yet sometimes deadly) creatures known as “Pals.” Players can catch these creatures and build their own base to level up.
The game is clearly inspired by the world of Pokemon, so it’s no wonder players have been calling it “Pokemon with guns.” And, after playing Palworld, people have been more intrigued by the world of Pokemon as well.
Palworld is so anime-like that players want to experience some worlds or stories like it. Well, there are indeed some anime series that will scratch your Palworld itch.
1. Pokemon
Palworld is basically Pokemon with guns, so how could we not talk about the series that inspired the breakout title? Pokemon is one of the most popular Japanese media franchises that has been dominating the industry since 1997. The storyline follows Ash and his best friend, Pikachu, an adorable yellow-colored Pokemon, as they travel to different locations to participate in the tournaments in the Pokemon League. Using different Pokemon, the young boy has to fight and win against several Pokemon users to become the Pokemon Master.
The first season of Pokemon came in 1997, but there’s since been 26 seasons, with the latest series replacing the classic characters with new ones. The community has also seen a spin-off anime titled Pokemon Chronicles and some new Pokemon-related shows over the years.
2. Dinosaur King
Based on the card-based arcade game, Dinosaur King is an anime series that ran from 2007 to 2009 on TV Asahi. The 79-episode anime adaptation aimed to target young viewers.
Dinosaur King revolves around Max, a kid who witnesses a meteor crash one day. After arriving at the location, he unknowingly summons a dinosaur using a strange card. Since the moment he activates the dinosaur, the kid becomes a nemesis to the villainous Alpha gang. As the leader of the antagonists aspires to become a dinosaur king with the help of these dinosaurs, he and his henchmen must find every card scattered across the globe.

3. Digimon Adventure
Based on a toy line, Digimon Adventure serves as the first anime series of the franchise. Toei Animation left no stone unturned to make the anime series perfect for the young audience. The series arrived on Fuji TV in March 1999, and it ran for exactly a year.
The plotline revolves around seven children who go to a summer camp but are accidentally teleported to the world of Digimon. These children befriend the Digimon and witness them become a stronger version of themselves to fight the enemies. However, when these kids look forward to returning to their parents, they find out that they have been chosen to save the digital world from some corrupt organizations.
4. Angelic Layer
Angelic Layer is based on a manga of the same name. Unlike other anime on the list, Angelic Layer features a female protagonist. The girl named Misaki Suzuhara gets intrigued after witnessing a live battle between two dolls on a screen known as Angelic Layer. When she crosses paths with the Angelic Layer’s creator, Mihiro, she creates her own doll with his help. Mihiro also assists her in several tournaments.
Angelic Layer was created by the all-female Japanese manga artists’ group Clamp, so it’s no wonder the elements of the anime seem similar to their other works.
5. Yo-Kai Watch
Yo-Kai Watch’s series is a perfect binge-watch for every anime enthusiast. Based on the action game Yo-Kai Watch, the show features Keita Amano, who lives an ordinary life in the beginning, but one day, while wandering in the forest, he sets a ghost-like creature called Youkai free.
The Youkai gets happy seeing his kind gesture, so he ends up gifting a Yo-Kai watch to Keita, which gives him the ability to see and hear other Youkais that exist in the human world. In Palworld, you come across different Pals or Pokemon that are living along with humans. Similarly, in Yo-Kai Watch, you get introduced to adorable Youkais.
